Super Conference 2004
Congratulations and thank you to Dr. Tamar Riley for an excellent Super Conference this past February in Tuscaloosa. There were over 500 attendees at the two-day conference, and everyone was very pleased with all aspects of the program. We were especially impressed with the variety of presentations offered, so a big thank-you goes out to all the presenters as well!

New Listserv
We have created a listserv of AFCEC members who provided an email address to CEC. If you haven’t received a message  welcoming you to the list, that means we either have no email address for you or we have an incorrect one. If you wish to be added, please use the online form or send your email address to riceric@auburn.edu. We’re excited about being able to send news and announcements, etc. in such a quick and efficient manner!

It’s also great to have the website available to us. We have a new webmaster, Ms. Dawn Browning, from Auburn University, who will assist us in keeping it up-to-date. We’d like for all of you to think of the website as yours; if you have information you’d like posted, or if you have suggestions for additional links, please use the online form or email us at riceric@auburn.edu and we’ll forward your suggestions to Dawn.

Committee News
As most of you know, AFCEC functions because of the volunteer activities of its members.  If any of you would like to become active by participating on one of our standing committees listed below, please contact the chair.

One of our Committee chairs has changed hats since the last newsletter. Carmelita Bivens, who has chaired the CAN committee for the last…oh, lots and lots of years agreed to head the recently re-activated Professional Development Committee. Thank yous go to Karen Dahle, from UAB, for agreeing to take her place, and to Carmelita for offering to help get her started.

Division/Chapter News
Every year at the Super Conference a time is scheduled for divisions to meet and elect officers for the upcoming year. Divisions – If you join a division at the national level, you are then a member of that division at the local level. Below is a list of divisions active at the local level.
