Nominations for AFCEC’s  2008 Awards

 

The Alabama Federation Council for Exceptional Children wishes to recognize, honor, and acknowledge the accomplishments of teachers and administrators who work with students with exceptionalities.  The Honors Committee depends on nominations from persons and groups throughout the state.  Please consider nominating someone for an award.

 

The nominator must send a:

(a) letter of nomination,

(b) vita for the nominee,

(c) brief biographical sketch of the nominee,

(d) reason for making the nomination,

(e) statement of the contributions of the nominee to the field of special education, and

(f) several letters supporting the nomination.

 

Nomination Awards:

Alpha Brown Award for Outstanding Special Educator

Margaret Vann Award for Outstanding  Special Education Coordinator

Outstanding Special Education Teacher of the Year

Outstanding Regular Education Teacher of the Year

Jasper Harvey Award for Outstanding Teacher Educator

Tommy Russell Award for Outstanding College Student in Special Education

 

Note:  When making nominations, please note that all nominees must be current CEC members except for nominations for the Outstanding Regular Education Teacher of the Year.
